Coin en v actes de alfred de musset. Sarah bernhardt, anno domini mdcccxcvi. Reduced version, in different colours, of the first of 1896. Height: 98,3 cm; width: 36,8 cm. Signature of mucha in the board. Poster laminated on strong cardboard and preserved under carpet and glass wood frame (framework of the second half of the 20th century). Condition: yellowed paper and a little insulated in a homogeneous way. Modern restoration to fill a gap in the upper border (at the level of the letters "nza"), as well as at the level of the frame net in the lower part of the right edge (about 1.5 x 1 cm); some slight loss of colour at the level of the legend in the head; a discreet tear without missing on about 15 cm starting at the upper edge; very discreet trace and visible only at a certain angle in the upper left (at the level of the fantastic animal); very slight cracks in a very small upper left angle; discreet tear without missing on 7 cm in foot (traversing the letters a and n) and a few small and slight losses of tint at the level of the frame net above the letters d and e; some small gaps in straightening (invisible under the whole) and other tiny defects. The poster does not appear to have been significantly affected by the size of its original margins.

The defects were noted after disframement (the poster was then placed under its keypad and its frame). All modern restorations were carried out using chemically neutral and completely reversible materials. This unusual version is preserved by the carnivalet museum (paris) and is sometimes also found on the international market. Although the paper is slightly yellowed and the colours slightly passed, the general colour is well in keeping with what it was originally intended to be. This is not a poster whose colors would be totally lost.

The versions should not be confused. Note that the vitreous frame produces light and shadow effects (which are therefore only virtual) on some of the photographs below (e. The poster does not seem to have suffered any significant damage to the size of its original margins. The defects were noted without framing (the poster having then been replaced under its canvas mat and its frame). All modern restorations have been transported out using chemically neutral and completely reversible materials.
