Jules nice shawl, born in Paris on 1 June 1836 and died in Nice September 23, 1932, is a French painter and lithographer, popular master of the art of the poster. His joyous creations, his ability to deal with different techniques, have naturally led to the Jules Chéret poster art of which he was a pioneer.

Hundreds of posters he has produced are a rich collection, moving testimonies of famous places of the era: shepherdess follies grévin museum, department stores, balls. Admirer of watteau, its watchword appears to have been the lightness and movement.
